B.F.F.I.A | The Bahamas

The Bahamas Fly-Fishing Industry Association, BFFIA, was incorporated as a nonprofit, private sector organization in the city of Nassau, The Bahamas on August 17, 2012 with the following objectives:

 

•To establish solidarity amongst all stakeholders in the industry

•To provide advocacy and strong lobby to influence favorable public policy

•To facilitate training and research to benefit industry practitioners

•To take the lead on strategic global marketing initiatives for the sector

Founded in 2003 by the Bahamas Sporty-Fishing Conservancy Association, BSCA, by grassroots action, visionary sports fishermen mobilized to address urgent needs in the industry to ensure its sustainability. The Bahamas Sportfishing Conservation Association, as part of its mandate, is to actively identify the critical needs affecting the marine environment in general and the sportfishing industry specifically:
